Best Breweries in Bend Oregon

What’s the beer capital of the world?  There’s a LOT of competition, but I’m going to say somewhere in Oregon has to take top honors.  And while Portland has a lot going for it (I love it there), I’m going to suggest that you set your steering wheel a bit further east from the coast and check out the wonderful city of Bend.  Bend has totally embraced microbrew culture and has a hip, artisan feel about everything they do.  Let’s explore some of the best breweries in Bend, Oregon.

This is Red Chair, a seasonal brew from Deschutes (January-March ish). It's my favorite beer from Oregon, brewed right here in Bend.

The Best Breweries in Bend Oregon

  • Deschutes: This is probably the best known brewery in Bend (and Oregon), and many have been to their huge restaurant/brewery in Portland, but their home is Bend.  Many of the names of their products are from places in Bend, like Mirror Pond.
  • Good Life:  I just love their name, but the beer is good, and their brewery is on a “campus” with a winery and artisan coffee shop, so you could definitely spend a lot of time here.
  • Boneyard:  The beer for rock stars.  All their marketing has a super-edgy feel, but the staff here in their tiny tasting room couldn’t be more friendly.  Their growlers are dirt cheap too, so maybe grab one to bring back to your hotel in Bend.
  • 10 Barrel:  This is the brewery that most locals suggest as their fave. They have some superb seasonal brews, and almost every one of their regular beers is an award winner of some kind.
