Hotels that post fake reviews on Tripadvisor could face criminal prosecution according to an article published in The Times on Saturday. A new European directive comes into action next year that could also lead to naming and shaming by trading standards and extends to any businesses creating fake blogs/sites/posts that claim to be from a customer. Plenty of negative comments at The Times site, most of which I agree with. More thoughts on this over at this E-consultancy post.
