The 2010 Census has named Seattle’s 98118 zip code as one of the most diverse in America. This area, known as Columbia City, lies just south of downtown Seattle, towards the city’s airport. A mix of immigrants, locals who enjoy the new light rail service into downtown, and others who have found themselves in 98118 for one reason or another, the area is an interesting place to visit. A few photos to tempt you to stop by during a Seattle visit.

Like the faces of a yearbook, these labeled drawers in a Columbia City bikeshop echo the organized, yet chaotic, diversity.

Diversity isn't limited to people - architecture takes the cake too.

With ethnic backgrounds comes ethnic foods, and you'll find 'em in Columbia City. Even if that's some eggs and toast... at a wine bar.

This park sign and park itself looks similar to many others in Seattle, a reminder that it fits in with the city's overall vibe.

Many Seattle neighborhood's have bowling alleys - and Columbia City is no exception. These shoes somehow reminded me of the many people who come and go on any day.

Last but not least, the light rail - 98118's connection to downtown Seattle.
